This collection contains the papers, photographs, and awards of Thomas and Nancy Davidson.
Thomas Ferguson Davidson in New York City on January 5, 1930 to Lorimer A. and Betty Gael Valentine Davidson and grew up in Washington, D.C. Tom married Nancy Lee Secman on November 10, 1951. The have three children.
Tom received a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Maryland and then pursued graduate studies at Ohio State and Princeton. Upon graduation from Maryland, Tom was commissioned and spent the next ten years in the Air Force, mostly in gas turbine and rocket propulsion research and development. After joining Thiokol, he progressed through several marketing and engineering positions and retired as Vice President in 1990.
Since retirement, Tom was involved in many community activities: Red Cross, Family Counseling Service, Utah Musical Theater, Dinosaur Park, OWATC Foundation, WSU Foundation, Wildcat Club, WSU Athletic Board, and a variety of church offices. He was a member of the Utah State Board of Education and the Board of Trustees of Weber State University. He was also a member of the WSU National Advisory Committee. In 1998, Tom received an honorary Doctor of Humanities Degree from Weber State. In 2008, Tom and Nancy received the United Way Community Leader Award.
Tom and Nancy were tremendous supporters of Weber State University and the Weber State Athletic Department. They were longtime season ticket holders and members of the Wildcat Club. Tom was also a past president of the Wildcat Club and he and Nancy are charter members of the Champions Club. Tom and Nancy's generous donations to the WSU Athletic Department include the Tom and Nancy Davidson Office Complex at the Dee Events Center and the Tom and Nancy Davidson Track Locker Room at Stewart Stadium.
