The expertise of Weber's Children's School may rub off on the proposed Day Care Center. The Center got an important boost with the endorsement of the Executive Council. Phots b; John Schupe Let it snow by Brent Aguirre The Student Body Officers at WSC have set a Day Care Center for Weber, as their top priority goal for the year, according to Mike Hunsaker, Student Services Vice President. Proposals for' a day care center have been in the making for nearly a year and Hunsaker said the Executive Council has given their approval to go ahead with the program. "We're looking at day care as a long range goal and would like to see the program, if not implemented, have a good possibility to be," he said. If Weber could fill the need for day care completely, the school could increase its enrollment by 15 to 20 students in each of the 8 schools, or a financial increase of approximately $10,000 a q -ter; he said, "this is our long range plan." The program has the students behind it now and according to Hunsaker, "all we need is the Administration."A meeting is being set up with the Day Care Committee and Vice Presidents, Dello G. Dayton, Academic Affairs and Parry D. Wilson, Administration Services, for next week to up-date the administration on day care plans and let them help work out the remaining problerhs. The program is still having legal problems but the Attorney General's office has said these problems can be worked out, Hunsaker said. The initial center will probably be for children ages 3 to 5 because infant day care is somewhat complicated and difficult to initiate. Realignment of allocated funds from the student government and hopefully financial support from the Administration will iniatially get the program off the ground. A new bill submitted to the Executive Council to create a new position for Married Students Chairman should help the program move more quickly, said Hunsaker.Scholarship deadline The deadline for Scholarship applications is Feb.' 1, 1977.
