Biographical Note/Historical Note +/-
The Supreme Court is the judicial branch of the Weber State University Student Association (WSUSA), and was started in the 1962-1963 school year with the change of student government and Weber State becoming a four-year college. Its job is to interpret the WSUSA Constitution upon petition, to determine the constitutionality of all legislation passed by the WSUSA Senate upon petition, and to perform any other judicial functions as specifically assigned the Executive Officers, Senate, or the Bylaws. As of 2012, there are three student justices, including one Chief Justice, who is appointed by the Student Association President and approved by the Student Senate. Once appointed, the Justices are not allowed to serve in any other office and may serve one to four years.
