David Eccles # 2.
I am taking up with my affairs, and believe me when I say that I shall not in the least feel hurt if you do not want to make a loan on the terms that I have written about. I shall write to Chicago today to the friend who offered to take $20,000 in our
mining company, but on account of the condition of things and the fear there is regading the election I fear that he will do nothing, and to tell you the truth I would much prefer to have him decline ,if such a thing were possible as for me to get the. money at home.
With kind regards and thanks for all of the favors which I have had at your hands in times past, I am,
Sincerely your friend and brother,
H. J. Grant
