Dear Don:
Your letter arrived last week and the two-volume report on the Samalayuca copper mine arrived yesterday. I read all the material and have passed the report on to Bob Wheaton who is handling our exploration affairs in North America. The report is very thorough and well documented; I did have one question - - who owns the water rights?
As I may have mentioned to you in La Jolla, Utah, at this time, has not decided to enter mining in Mexico. Our group has done several detailed studies on the mining and taxation implications for business in Mexico but with our interests in the United States, Australia and Canada absorbing our energy and capital, Mexico must be put in abeyance. However, something on the back burner can be moved to the front with a good mining prospect. I will let you know the reaction here.
My many thanks for bringing the property to mine and Utah's attention.
Yours sincerely,
Hugh Douglas Manager
